One of UCAN City Mission’s primary objectives is to provide a safe and secure environment for the guests of the mission. We have implemented certain safety features in order that we may achieve our goal of offering safe housing. We have a security door that is locked 24/7 so that community members that are not staying at the shelter must be buzzed in by an operations staff member. We have also had a security surveillance system installed throughout the facility to ensure that internal and external activity can be monitored and recorded at all times. Beyond that we have an up to code, properly inspected, and actively monitored fire system wired throughout the building as well.
“The result of righteousness will be peace… Then my people will dwell in a peaceful place, in safe and secure dwellings.” Isaiah 32: 17-18. It’s true that our priority at UCAN is the physical safety of every guest, but we equally prioritize the spiritual safety and security of every guest that is only found in each individual’s pursuit of God (a.k.a. “the path of righteousness”).
